Dr. Stephanie AuBuchon, PhD, NCSP

Education: Dr. Stephanie AuBuchon is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Nationally Certified School Psychologist. Dr. AuBuchon graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Women & Gender Studies from Illinois Wesleyan University. She went on to receive her Master’s and Doctorate from Illinois State University in School Psychology.

 

Client Base: Dr. AuBuchon works with individuals as young as 2 through mid adulthood, but specializes in working with autistic children and their families. She began her career working as the Evaluation Lead for toddlers with developmental disorders in an ABA clinic. She then moved to working at Counseling Connections, a private practice. She began her private practice career by providing therapeutic support to individuals with a wide variety of psychopathology, including Autism Spectrum Disorders, Anxiety, Depression, and ADHD. Additionally, Dr. AuBuchon is a Diagnostic Externship Supervisor, which supports the academic, cognitive, social emotional testing, Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnostic evaluations, and Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings that take place at Counseling Connections’ therapeutic day schools. Lastly, she also completes neuropsychological testing at the practice for individuals with Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Mood Disorders, and Personality Disorders.

 

Therapeutic Approach: Dr. AuBuchon likes to build a strong working relationship by having strong rapport that leads to trust. She ensures that her therapy space provides an open, kind, and encouraging place for her clients to grow and develop skills to overcome their obstacles. She provides comprehensive psychological evaluations to help identify accurate diagnoses, clarify strengths and challenges, and create individualized treatment plans for next steps. Her goal is to help clients and families better understand their needs and develop effective pathways toward achieving their goals.
