Education: Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology and Counseling, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology; Bachelor's Degrees in Psychological Sciences and French Studies,

University of Missouri, Columbia.

Ms. Albers is a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Client Base:  Ms. Albers has experience working with a large client base in a variety of settings including private practice, psychiatric hospitals, and a therapeutic day school. She specializes in working with children and adolescents with a wide range of social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Specifically, Ms. Albers has a passion for working with those who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as families needing extra support and care. Ms. Albers has a passion for understanding each client on an individual level and tailoring treatment to the clients needs. She values demonstrating openness, empathy, and validation with each client by using an integrated and holistic approach. Ms. Albers currently works part-time at the private practice and part-time at a therapeutic day school. 

 

Therapeutic approach:  Ms. Albers values empathy and a comprehensive understanding of the systems at play in a person's life. She works towards understanding each individual client by using a person-centered lens that assists the client in gaining insight into their own problems and guiding them to find a more holistic solution. Ms. Albers uses a variety of techniques from various theoretical lenses including CBT-oriented interventions, humanistic approaches, and expressive therapy techniques. She provides a welcoming, humorous, and safe environment for the client to work towards gaining insight and achieving their therapeutic goals.
