Ms. Sara Knauz, LCPC
Sara Knauz earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Roosevelt University, Schaumburg Campus. Ms. Knauz has worked in a variety of settings, including hospital, community mental health, crisis intervention, public schools, and therapeutic day schools. Ms. Knauz specializes in working with young children and adolescents, and also has experience working with adults and families. Her areas of interest include Anxiety, Depression, Sensory Processing Disorders, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and Adjustment Disorders.
Ms. Knauz strives to develop a working relationship based on collaboration and mutual respect. By providing a relaxed, judgement free space, clients are encouraged to explore their emotional and psychological pain with understanding and support. She believes change and growth come from awareness of thoughts and feelings and being able to adjust these in order to manage symptoms, and overcome both internal and external barriers to life goals. Within treatment, Ms. Knauz incorporates theories of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Narrative Therapy techniques, and Expressive methods.
